KPV reconstitution calculator

Vial size, bacteriostatic water and dose in — the syringe reading comes out. Defaults are the KPV numbers from the Dosify Me app; change anything.

Quick answer: A 5 mg vial of KPV mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water comes to 2.5 mg/mL, so a 250 mcg dose is 10 units (0.1 mL) on an insulin syringe.

KPV at a glance

5mg vial + 2mL BAC water = 8 units = 200mcg — Frequency: daily — Best taken: morning, fasted

What it does

Notes

The 5mg reference vial mixes to 2.5mg/mL. Larger vial size options are capped at ~3mL BAC water instead of diluted further, so they come out more concentrated (fewer units per dose) than this reference size.

Side Effects

KPV vial sizes and concentrations

Standard water for each KPV vial size in the Dosify Me data, and the concentration it gives. One unit is 0.01 mL on a U-100 insulin syringe.

* This size is conventionally mixed more concentrated rather than diluted further — fewer units per dose than smaller vials of this peptide.

Worked example for KPV

  1. The example vial: 10 mg of KPV, mixed with 3.00 mL of bacteriostatic water.
  2. Concentration: 10 mg ÷ 3.00 mL = 3.33 mg/mL.
  3. One syringe unit is 0.01 mL, so it holds 3.33 mg/mL × 0.01 mL = 0.033 mg (33.33 mcg).
  4. Example quantity: 250 mcg = 0.25 mg.
  5. Volume: 0.25 mg ÷ 3.33 mg/mL = 0.075 mL.
  6. Syringe reading: 0.075 mL × 100 = 7.5 units.

Frequently asked

How many units is 200 mcg of KPV?

At 2.5 mg/mL (the standard mix for vials up to 5 mg), 200 mcg of KPV is 8.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.080 mL).

How many units is 250 mcg of KPV?

At 2.5 mg/mL (the standard mix for vials up to 5 mg), 250 mcg of KPV is 10.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.100 mL).

How many units is 350 mcg of KPV?

At 2.5 mg/mL (the standard mix for vials up to 5 mg), 350 mcg of KPV is 14.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.140 mL).

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 5 mg vial of KPV?

2.00 mL, which gives 2.5 mg/mL. Larger vials hold at most 3 mL of water, so they are mixed more concentrated and need fewer units per dose.

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg vial of KPV?

3.00 mL, which gives 3.33 mg/mL. This size holds at most 3 mL of water, so it is mixed more concentrated and the same dose is fewer units than from a smaller vial.

How often is KPV taken?

Daily. Morning, fasted Typical cycle: 2–4 weeks on, ~1 week off; repeat as needed.

About these figures

Published by San Tan Group, LLC, the company that makes the Dosify Me app. About Dosify Me

Figures come from the Dosify Me compound database for KPV: concentration is the vial amount ÷ the water volume, and syringe units are the volume in mL × 100 on a U-100 syringe.
