Peptide injection site rotation

Most peptides are injected subcutaneously, into the fat under the skin. The technique is simple; the discipline is rotating sites so that no patch of skin takes the same needle day after day.

Informational use only — not medical advice. Check every figure against your own product and talk to a licensed healthcare provider before starting or changing anything.

The ten sites

These are the sites on the Dosify Me body map, front and back:

FrontBack
Abdomen, outer rightLeft upper arm (back)
Abdomen, inner rightRight upper arm (back)
Abdomen, inner leftLeft flank
Abdomen, outer leftRight flank
Right thigh (front, inner)
Left thigh (front, inner)

Stay at least two inches from the navel, away from the waistband, and clear of scars, moles and bruises.

The four-day rest rule

After a site is used, rest it for four days before using it again. With ten sites and one injection a day, a strict rotation gives every site nine days off; with two injections a day you still have a comfortable margin. The app tints a used site red with its remaining rest time, and marks the site that has rested longest as the suggestion.

Technique in six steps

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the site with alcohol and let it dry.
  2. Pinch a fold of skin between thumb and finger.
  3. Insert the needle at 45–90° into the fold, quickly.
  4. Push the plunger slowly to the end; hold for five seconds.
  5. Withdraw straight out. Do not rub; press with a clean tissue if it bleeds.
  6. Log the dose and the site. Dosify Me asks for the site when you mark a dose taken, and the Dose History page shows which sites are still resting.

When to stop and reassess

Persistent redness beyond a day, a hard lump that does not fade, heat, or spreading swelling are reasons to stop using that site and to talk to a clinician. Mild redness and a small bruise are common and clear within a day or two.

Questions people ask

Where do you inject peptides subcutaneously?

Into the fat layer under the skin: the abdomen (two inches or more from the navel), the front of the thighs, the back of the upper arms, and the love-handle area on the flanks. Not into muscle, not near joints, not through bruises.

How often should I rotate injection sites?

Every injection. Rotate through several sites and rest each one for a few days. Dosify Me marks a site as resting for four days after use and suggests the site that has rested longest.

Why rotate at all?

Repeated injections in one spot cause lumps of hardened fat (lipohypertrophy), scarring and inconsistent absorption. Rotation keeps absorption predictable and the skin healthy.

Does the site change how well the peptide works?

Absorption speed varies a little by site — the abdomen is usually fastest — but for most peptides the difference is small. Consistency and rotation matter more than the exact site.
