Melanotan II reconstitution calculator

Vial size, bacteriostatic water and dose in — the syringe reading comes out. Defaults are the Melanotan II numbers from the Dosify Me app; change anything.

Quick answer: A 10 mg vial of Melanotan II mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water comes to 5 mg/mL, so a 250 mcg dose is 5 units (0.05 mL) on an insulin syringe.

Melanotan II at a glance

10mg vial + 2mL BAC water = 5 units = 250mcg — Frequency: daily loading, then 2-3x weekly — Best taken: before sun exposure

What it does

Melanocortin agonism acutely raises blood pressure and heart rate. Anyone on blood pressure medication (beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers) should use caution, and uncontrolled hypertension or significant cardiovascular disease is a reason to avoid this peptide. Talk to your doctor first.

Notes

All vial sizes reconstitute to 5mg/mL (50mcg/unit) so the syringe reads the same regardless of size.

Worked example for Melanotan II

  1. The example vial: 10 mg of Melanotan II, mixed with 2.00 mL of bacteriostatic water.
  2. Concentration: 10 mg ÷ 2.00 mL = 5 mg/mL.
  3. One syringe unit is 0.01 mL, so it holds 5 mg/mL × 0.01 mL = 0.05 mg (50 mcg).
  4. Example quantity: 250 mcg = 0.25 mg.
  5. Volume: 0.25 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL.
  6. Syringe reading: 0.05 mL × 100 = 5 units.

Label numbers from the Dosify Me data, used to show the arithmetic. Not a recommendation of any quantity.

Frequently asked

How many units is 250 mcg of Melanotan II?

At 5 mg/mL (the concentration every vial size mixes to), 250 mcg of Melanotan II is 5.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.050 mL).

How many units is 500 mcg of Melanotan II?

At 5 mg/mL (the concentration every vial size mixes to), 500 mcg of Melanotan II is 10.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.100 mL).

How many units is 1 mg of Melanotan II?

At 5 mg/mL (the concentration every vial size mixes to), 1 mg of Melanotan II is 20.0 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe (0.200 mL).

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg vial of Melanotan II?

2.00 mL, which gives 5 mg/mL. Other vial sizes use proportionally more or less water so the syringe reads the same.

How often is Melanotan II taken?

Daily during loading, then 2-3x weekly. Before sun exposure Typical cycle: Loading, then 2–3×/week to maintain; pause when tan is reached.

About these figures

Figures come from the Dosify Me compound database for Melanotan II: concentration is the vial amount ÷ the water volume, and syringe units are the volume in mL × 100 on a U-100 syringe.
