Reading units for Melanotan II

Syringe units measure volume, not the amount of Melanotan II: on a U-100 insulin syringe 100 units is 1 mL.
The vial is labelled in mg while quantities are often written in mcg: 1 mg is 1000 mcg, so a 10 mg vial holds 10000 mcg.

Check one row of the table above: 250 mcg is 0.25 mg; 0.25 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL; 0.05 mL × 100 = 5 units.

What it does

A stronger, less selective melanocortin agonist than Melanotan I — also studied for libido (it is the basis of the approved drug Vyleesi) and appetite suppression.
Produces a faster, deeper tan than Melanotan I, but with a notably higher rate of nausea, flushing, and spontaneous erections/libido effects.
Not approved for cosmetic tanning use — significant, well-documented side-effect profile compared to most other entries in this list.

Medication caution

Melanocortin agonism acutely raises blood pressure and heart rate. Anyone on blood pressure medication (beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers) should use caution, and uncontrolled hypertension or significant cardiovascular disease is a reason to avoid this peptide. Talk to your doctor first.
